Program
Day 1: Arrival in Bogotá and the first night in
La
Candelaria (the colonial center of Bogotá).
Day 2: City tour including Cerro Monserrate, a walk through La
Candelaria and entrance to the famous Gold Museum or Donacion
Botero.
Day 3: Bus to Aipe and walk to Villavieja
for the night.
Day 4: Hike through the Tatacoa Desert and another night in
Villavieja.
Day 5: Bus to San Agustin and night just outside town in the hills.
Day 6: Visit
archeological
site, El Bosque del Estatuas and museum. Horse ride to 4 other
archeological sites with stunning scenery.
Day 7: Bus to Tierradentro and visit one of the tomb sites, night in
town with local family.
Day 8: Visit the other tomb sites El Aguacate and El Piramide, 2nd
night at local family.
Day 9: Bus to Popayán and night off in white colonial town.
Day 10: Day tour Puracé National Park and
the
Coconuco hot springs.
2nd night in Popayan.
Day 11: Bus
and
local hand train through tropical forest to
San Cipriano and night in town.
Day 12:
Bus to Calí and night off in the 'Salsa Capital' of Colombia.
Day 13: Day off to see the city by day.
Dag 14: Transport to Valle de Cocora and night in a local farm.
Day 15: Horse ride (+/- 5 hours) in Valle de Cocora and transport
back to Salento.
Day 16:Transport to Pereira and in a willy to Coffee farm (finca
cafetera) close to Pereira.
Day 17: Day off at the finca cafetera to rest, to walk and/or to get
to know the coffee process.
Day 18: Bus to Santa Rosa to visit the hotsprings. In the afternoon
transport to Manizales. Night in
the
center of town.
Day 19: Tour
to
Nevado del Ruíz (5300m) including breakfast. In the afternoon
transport to Visitors Center El Cisne (4000 meter) for the night.
Day 20: Early morning walk to Laguna Verde Encantado. Afterwards
transport back to Manizales.
Day 21: Bus to Medellín.
Day 22: Short city tour including the cable car up to Santa Domingo
and rest of day free in Medellín.
Day 23: Visit the colonial city of Santa Fé de Antioquia. Night
spend in this colonal village.
Day 24: Visit Puente de Occidente and transport back to Medellín and
flight to Cartagena. Hotel in Getsemani, close to colonial center.
Day 25: Short city tour with a visit of the Castillo de San Felipe
de Barajas time off to visit the colonial center.
Day 26: Day tour
to
Islas del Rosario and Playa Blanca, including lunch and snorkeling.
Day 27: Bus to Santa Marta and time off to visit the Tayrona museum.
Day 28: Bus to Quebrada Valencia and in the afternoon bus to
National Park Tayrona. Night in hammocks in front of the beach in
the park.
Day 29: Day off to visit the nearby beautiful beaches in the park or
walk to Pueblito. Second night in the park.
Day 30: Back in Santa Marta to get a shower and relax.
Day 31: Taxi to airport and end of tour.
