The Meta department is the best known and the biggest department of the area that is called 'Los Llanos'. It is also the department that from Bogota is the easiest to reach. There is a beautiful road that starts in the Capital, from the mountains you go to the lower lain savanna area. During the ride the climate, the vegetation and also the culture changes and that within a drive of 2 to 3 hours from Bogota.

We offer packages from 3 days/2 nights to all possible destinations in the Meta department. Some destinations are: Villavicencio, the capital of the Meta department and the biggest city in the area, Puerto Lopez, further in the eastern direction and deeper in the 'Los Llanos' area, and Puerto Gaitan, even more in the northern direction. Other destinations are Acacias, San Martin, Granada, la Uribe and La Macarena in the southern direction, or Restrepo and Cumaral in the northern direction.

For other departments in the 'Los Llanos' area we don´t have a special selection on the website, but off course it is possible to make a custom made package to for example Yopal or other cities and villages in the Guaviare, Vichada, Casanare or Arauca department.

You can decide which city or place you want to visit and for how long. On our website you can find several hotels under the section 'Los Llanos'. You can choose a hotel out of this selection or if the by your preferred hotel is not in the list you can ask us to arrange that hotel for you.

In the 'Los Llanos' area it is also possible to stay outside of the cities or villages in a typical farm in a more natural area. This is a perfect way to experience and get to know more about the characteristics of this typical culture. If you are interested in staying on a farm ask us for the possibilities.

There are direct flights from Bogota to Villavicencio and a package to this city can be offered with transport by road or with a direct flight from Bogota. For other destinations in the Meta department it is necessary to take the road. This could be directly from Bogota over the road to the preferred destination or with a flight from Bogota and then over the road.
